Important to be around normal and healthy people

Normal and healthy people don't judge you because of a particular diagnosis (or any other distinguishing factor that might set you apart at any given time for that matter).

The more you are around normal, healthy people the sooner you will be one too.

This "advice" merely hearkens back to the old adage "choose your friends wisely" that your mother and father may have passed on to you.

Okay, what am I saying here? That I, Dan Popovich, because I relish the company of sane and rational people and make an effort to be one am no longer "mentally ill"?

No. I will carry that diagnosis with me for the rest of my life. That is a fact. I still take my pills faithfully and talk to my counselor regularly.

What I will say is that it is also a fact that my bipolar disorder is in full remission according to my board certified and licensed and practicing psychiatrist and for that I am extremely grateful to God of course but also to all the good men and women that have helped get me here over the years.

It wasn't always a pleasant journey but is one that was well worth it. I can breath (metaphorically speaking).

Okay. This is just a short post that I wanted to pass on to you.
